Eligible Research Costs: Facilities costs, cruise costs, and site survey investigations (shipborne or virtual)
Funding Structure: Up to £500,000 (shipborne surveys) and up to £187,500 (virtual surveys); project duration up to 24 months
important notes: Applicants must have submitted a related drilling proposal to IODP3; collaboration and multidisciplinary research are encouraged; funding supports both new data collection and analysis of existing data
Ineligible Costs: PhD studentships; equipment costs above £25,000
Match Funding Requirement: NERC funds 80% of the full economic cost (FEC)
Objectives: To support development of high-quality UK-led ocean drilling proposals aligned with international research priorities
