Application Components: Online application form, business verification (Companies House, VAT, or equivalent), site details, installer details

Application Platform: Workplace Charging Scheme online application portal

Assessment Criteria: Eligibility compliance, appropriate site setup, and adherence to scheme rules

Decision Process: Voucher issued within 5 working days if approved; installer claims grant after installation

Decision Risks: Non-compliance may result in voucher withdrawal, grant rejection, or audit recovery

Environmental & EDI Requirements: Supports transition to low-emission transport and sustainable infrastructure

Funding Structure: Covers up to 75% of costs (including VAT), capped at £350 per socket (increasing to £500 from April 2026); maximum of 40 sockets per applicant across all sites

Governance Requirements: Compliance with subsidy control rules and regulatory standards including fire safety obligations

important notes: Voucher valid for 180 days; installer must claim grant; cannot claim the same chargepoint under multiple schemes; businesses may combine with EV infrastructure grant (with restrictions); public use allowed only under compliance with regulations

Ineligible Applicants: Organisations without valid business registration or eligible site conditions

Ineligible Costs: Installations required by regulation or planning conditions; customer-only parking locations; previously funded sites

Key Organisational Requirements: Must own or have permission for the site; must have off-road parking designated for staff/fleet use; must use authorised installers and eligible chargepoints; must comply with subsidy control rules (£315,000 MFA limit over 3 years)

Match Funding Requirement: Applicant must fund remaining costs beyond grant contribution

Monitoring Requirements: Installations may be audited; documentation and site access may be required

Project Start Date: After voucher approval and installation arrangement

Renewal Structure: Extended until 31 March 2027
